HIV/Communicable Disease Testing is conducted by the Gaston
County Health Dept. every 3rd and 4thTuesday at As One Ministries
from 10:30am- 12:30pm . See this months Calender of Events.
We recently received a $2,000 grant from the Lovett
Foundation and $5,000 from The Presbyterian
Endowment Trust of the First Presyterian Church Gastonia
The renovation of the donated building at 809 W. Airline Ave. is complete.
The new facility includes showers, washers/dryers, storage, a full-kitchen
and the installation of a sprinkler system.
As One Ministries would like to thank Mr Joseph Grooms, Jr. for the
donation of the property in April 2010. The space was converted into the
drop-in portion of the day shelter and includes the following:
- Showers for men and women
- Washers and dryers
- Computer lab
- Full kitchen
- Client storage
- Telephones
- Emergency overflow overnight shelter during the
winter
The upstairs is used for administrative offices, trainings, and workshops for
the clients.

Update:As One Ministries recently received a $25,000 grant from the
Merancas Foundation.
As One Ministries will utilize several of
our clients to assist in the building
renovation project. In addition services
have been donated by the following in

Our Housing First
Grant has been
renewed for 2010/2011
As One Ministries received a $10,000 grant from the Community Foundation of
Gaston County to assist with appliances for the new space and supportive
services.

Southminster Presbyterian Church hosts a birthday party every 4th Saturday
at noon at As One for clients celebrating birthdays during that month.
Second Chance is a two year grant that we received in November. It has
allowed us to house 7 individuals and one family. Housing First is full with 4
individuals.

We raised $20,536 from Community Foundation Run for the Money 9. This
is the largest amount ever for us. Special Thanks to all donors. Community
Foundations are for the Housing First and Second Chance Supportive
Housing Grant required match, case management, and supportive services
for day shelter clients.
We received a $25,000 grant from the Merancas Foundation on July 8, 2011
for operations.
